Why Barbecue Grilling Is Loved Around The World

Barbecue grilling let us all indulge in our love affair of grilled foods.

Grilling is healthy because we don’t have to use oil.  But it also makes the meat we cook taste so much better.

With a barbecue grill, we can cook fish, meat, poultry, seafood and vegetables.

The barbecue has different traditions depending on what country you live in.

The Brazilian barbeque is a grilled food done with a special technique called Churrasco.  You can use any kind of meat—whether it is chicken, pork or beef.  The meat is cooked in a direct flame with very light seasoning so that the natural flavors have a chance to stand out.

One of the main seasoning used in Brazil is marine sale.  While the meat is being cooked, it is rotated constantly which keeps the flavors intact.  Brazilian barbecue is often served with rice or farof, a manioc flour that is a very popular Brazilian dish.
According to history, there were Brazilians who brought cattle-raising in the South America. This started their love for barbecues which they call churrasco. It became a traditional staple food of the Brazilians especially the gauchos or cowboys. They made their Churrascos very fashionable.
The restaurants in Brazil who offer these dishes are called churrascaria de rodizio.  In this tradition, the waters walk around offering slices of Brazilian barbeque on the customer’s plate. A churrasco knife is made specifically for this barbecue meat and used to cut the churrasco.

Another country with a famous barbeque tradition is Korea.

Just like in Brazil, the Koreans barbecue all kinds of meat including pork, chicken and beef.  To prepare the meat, the Koreans marinate it in delicious sauces which combine various ingredients with fruit juices.  If you go to a Korean restaurant, they provide gas or charcoal grills at the tables where diners do their own grilling.  The grill is normally placed at the center of the table.
Korean barbecue is very versatile.  Sometime, the meats are marinated before grilling.  Other times, the meat is grilled without marinade.

Probably one of the most popular types of barbecue is called galbi.  Galbi is a barbecue made of marinated beef short ribs.  This dish is not just popular in Korean and has become a big favorite all over the world.  Normally galbi is served with rice, miso soup and panchan, a very spicy side dish.

Of course, In America, barbecues are different.

Normally, meat is grilled in large pieces and seasonings are used sparingly. The American barbecue tradition is the stuff of legend and is the backdrop for many important national occasions, the most famous being the Fourth of July
